Building my PC

Late december to Early June I realized I needed to build a PC for Streaming and Music Production. The Mac Mini I had at the time was barely cutting it; I use some pretty demanding plugins (Omnisphere, Keyscape, ect.)

So I set out with a budget (2500 max) to build as beefy as a computer as possible. I knew I needed to increase my ram by a lot and settled on 32 gigs as a starter, with expansion up to 64 gigs at a later date. 3070 was my graphics card of choice, because I was planning on using this computer mostly for music production, however I did want to do some video editing on the side. The one thing I got the “max” of is the Processor (Ryzen 5950x). While not necessary for music production (FL depends more on high clock speeds than core count) I wanted to get a 5950x because, simply, I have never had a processor with 16 cores. Crazy, I know.

Here are some pics of the original PC build:

After some time passed and graphics cards decreased in price I was able to upgrade the 3050 to a Asus KO 3070, which I have still to this day. I also added a 1TB SSD too (Samsung), which joins the one I already installed (Western Digital)

I still have some upgrade planned: the 3070, while good for gaming, seems to have issues (minimal) with video editing in Adobe Premiere. Now I don’t know if its Premiere (which it probably is, Adobe makes poorly optimized software), or my graphics card. Upgrading however will also help me with 4k gaming as well, because I have a 4k monitor. I also am planning on upgrading the RAM to 64 gigs as well, because, well, I can, and I paid for those extra ram slots 🙂
